- Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, the Towulade of Akinale in Ogun State and former journalist, passed away at 79 in London after a period of illness.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Towulade of Akinale in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, has joined his ancestors at the age of 79.
Oba Ogunleye was a prominent journalist with the old Daily Times of Nigeria and retired as the General Manager of Public Relations for the defunct Nigeria Airways. He was first installed as the Baale of Akinale in 2004 by former Governor Gbenga Daniel and was elevated to Oba by the same administration in 2006.

Reliable sources from Vanguard report that the royal father had been ill for some time and was taken to St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, where he passed away on Wednesday afternoon.
A source closed to the late monarch, told our Correspondent that the royal father who just completed his PhD programme in law, was warming up for his graduation in few weeks.
The source said, “Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Adewunmi Ogunleye joined his ancestors @79 in a London hospital after a brief illness”.
