Newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Dr. Kayode Opeifa, has pledged to fulfill the corporation’s responsibilities to Nigerians in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda program.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Opeifa made this promise upon assuming his new role on Thursday, expressing his commitment to work closely with NRC staff to deepen the country’s rail system and drive socio-economic development.

During his address, Dr. Kayode Opeifa emphasized the pivotal role of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) in fostering economic growth, encouraging national integration, and enhancing the welfare of Nigerian citizens.

He underscored the significance of a strong and efficient railway sector for the country’s prosperity and development.
He acknowledged the challenges facing the industry and vowed to tackle them head-on, leveraging his expertise and experience to bring about positive change.

He said;
“Our collective mission would be one of efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction driven by passion for excellence.
We will prioritize the completion of ongoing projects, modernize our infrastructure, and expand our services to meet the growing demands of our population.
This mission will be tailored towards a robust transformation of the rail sector in Nigeria into a world-class, efficient, and safe mode of transportation.
This mission is an integral part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President and the 25-year Strategic Rail Modernization Plan, which aims to create an enviable rail transport network that connects every state and major cities in Nigeria.
Opeifa pledged to prioritize Enhanced Private Sector Participation, he said

We will create a more conducive and enabling environment to deepen existing Private Sector participation as well encourage new ones in line with modern practices.
The NRC Boss also promise to priortizes strategic communication and media relations, where he urged the media to be gentle on the Organisation, he said.
” To the media, please be gentle on us, we promise to work with you for timely information and communication, We will improve speedily and we seek your cooperation to effectively disseminate information relating to the operations of the NRC and the receipt of constructive feedbacks” .

One of his priority also include Job Creation and Skill acquisition.
He said “We will work with other relevant government agencies such as th NDE, SMEDAN, ITF NBTI, NITT and our educational institutions to promote employment creation and skill acquisition through the reactivation and utilization of the numerous resource centres of the NRC nationwide, especially our Training Schools and Engineering Workshops”.
Dr. Kayode Opeifa took a moment to express his gratitude towards President Bola Tinubu for entrusting him with the responsibility to serve as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
He acknowledged the honor of this appointment and vowed to work diligently to meet the President’s expectations.
Furthermore, Opeifa extended his appreciation to the Minister of Transport, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali, for his outstanding leadership within the transportation sector.
He commended the Minister’s dedication and commitment to advancing Nigeria’s infrastructure and connectivity.
