EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has debunked reports of snubbing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, at an event.
This online media platform earlier reported that a video which made the rounds online captured the moment Adeleke playfully snubbed Ooni when the monarch stretched his hand to greet him.
However, the governor returned to greet the king, which many claimed was disrespectful to the Ooni.
Reacting to the outrage the video has generated online, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, in a statement, said agents of the opposition doctored the video.
Alimi urged the public to ignore the doctored video.
The statement reads: “The attention of the Osun State Government has been drawn to a doctored video being circulated on social media by agents of the opposition and fake news peddlers.
“Governor Ademola Adeleke and Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II enjoy the best of relations, as evident by the cordial exchange of pleasantries at the Palace of Osemawe of Ondo at the coronation of Senator Olubiyi Ajagunla.
“We are by this medium appealing to members of the public to disregard the doctored video in its entirety while we have uploaded the original videos for public consumption.”
