Otti urged all parties to shove aside political interest and clash over the welfare, growth and stability of the people of Abia State who could benefit from good governance.
The governor in a statement issued on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kazie Uko while reacting to the judgment of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal that gave him victory over the PDP and APC, on Friday, commended the Tribunal for delivering Justice to the people of Abia.
The statement reads: “My advise to my opponents is that this is a good time to sheath their swords and join hands with me to develop our state, Abia.
“Anyhow you slice and dice it; it costs a lot of money to engage in litigation. while I will not ask them to bring the money to me, I would advise that each of them have villages that are dilapidating; without roads, without water, and I believe that their communities will appreciate it if they would channel those resources into building roads in their villages and communities” .
Otti advised that resources used in pursuing a litigation should be put to better use to provide basic amenities that were lacking in communities within the State but most importantly all parties must ensure to keep the sanity of Abians.
Recall that in an earlier development, the Election Petition Tribunal that convened in Umuahia , had dismissed the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) petition, filed by Ambrose Ahaiwe, which contested the outcome of the March 18, 2023, election.

The tribunal clarified that the concerns regarding Otti’s eligibility to participate in the election and the arguments raised by the petitioners fell under the category of pre-election matters, and therefore, the tribunal lacked jurisdiction to decide on the matter.
