Governor Seyi Makinde Likely Successors
- Chief Adebayo Adelabu
Adelabu, 50 is the immediate past Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the 2019 Oyo State Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He hails from Ibadan South-East Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The University of Ife ( now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife) trained Accountant became an Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the First Bank of Nigeria in 2009 at the age of 39.
In 2014, Adelabu was appointed by Former President Goodluck Jonathan in February 2014 as the Deputy Governor (Operations) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, a position he held until May 2018.
- Senator Olufemi Lanlehin
Popularly known as SOLAN, Lanlehin, 67 is a trained Lawyer and Politician. He is the Principal Partner of Olufemi Lanlehin and Co, An Ikeja, Lagos State-based Legal Firm.
Durung the 2011 General Elections, Senator Lanlehin was elected to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate under the Defunct ACN platform.
In 2014, he decamped to the Accord Party. Lanlehin lost his re-election bid to Soji Akanbi of the APC in 2015. He was the 2019 Gubernatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State.
- Engineer Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe
Tegbe, 54 is a Management Consulting Expert, Tax Advisor and Senior Partner, Head of Technology Advisory and Market for KPMG, a Lagos-based Financial Auditing Firm.
The Ibadan indigene was appointed to lead a Presidential Initiative, Project Destination Nigeria under the Olusegun Obasanjo-led Presidency in 2005.
Tegbe also served as the Economic Adviser to the Oyo State Government during the Administration of Late Former Governor, Abiola Ajimobi. He was a Top Contenders for the 2019 APC Governorship Ticket in Oyo State.
- Chief Niyi Akintola (SAN)
Akintola, 61 is a Counsel/Legal Consultant to various Multinational Companies. He was once an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan.
Akintola became the Life Bencher in Nigeria, at the age of 50. He was a Third Republic Lawmaker in Oyo State, during which he served as Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly under the Kolapo Ishola-led Administration between 1992 and 1993.
- Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan
Adeduntan 65, is a United States-trained Surgeon, Enterpreneur, Philanthropist and Politician.
A Former Commissioner for Health in Oyo State, he hails from Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Dr. Adeduntan was the 2011 Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party in Oyo State as well as an Aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 and 2019.
