The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, Daniel Ajibola, in connection with the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl in Ibadan.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, confirmed the arrest in a statement released through the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka. He said the incident was reported on December 25, 2025, at the Alakia Adelubi Police Division.

According to the police, preliminary findings showed that the suspect allegedly assaulted the minor after giving her an intoxicating drink at an undisclosed location in the state capital.
The victim was said to have been taken to a hospital immediately for medical examination, while officers visited the scene and apprehended the suspect.
The police disclosed that Ajibola has allegedly confessed to the crime. In view of the seriousness of the offence, the Commissioner of Police ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a detailed and discreet investigation.
Haruna warned that the command would not tolerate s3xual violence or any offence targeted at women and minors, adding that the suspect would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
He reassured residents of the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property and urged the public to continue providing useful information to aid crime prevention and prosecution.
