The Oyo State government, in collaboration with non-governmental organizations OneLife Initiative and the Malala Fund, is intensifying its efforts to address the significant challenge of out-of-school children.
According to Eko Hot Blog, the Oyo State government, in partnership with OneLife Initiative and the Malala Fund, recently hosted a technical workshop in Ibadan. Participants, including policymakers and education experts, gathered to design actionable strategies for inclusive and sustainable reforms.

The one-day event featured keynote speeches and discussions on improving education sector planning, fostering crucial partnerships, and promoting gender-inclusive policies, particularly for girls. During the workshop, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin pledged legislative backing for all policies aimed at ending educational exclusion.

He stressed that education is a shared responsibility, urging all community members and parents to collaborate with the government.
Representatives from the Malala Fund and OneLife Initiative welcomed the participants, highlighting their shared commitment to strengthening education in Oyo State. The discussions identified several issues contributing to the crisis, including a lack of parental duty, inadequate government capacity, and food insecurity.
The workshop concluded with proposals to strengthen education laws, expand school feeding programs, and build community capacity to ensure every child has the right to learn.
