Panic As Armed Robbers Write Osun Community, Demands N20 Million
- “Notice, this is to inform you that, we, thieves are coming to rob every house in your community or you should contribute the sum of twenty million naira and keep it with your community Chairman so that we would pick it up when we come.
Residents of Olopa Estate, a community in Osun state are in a state of turmoil after robbers sent a written notice ordering them to contribute the sum of twenty million naira and give to their chairman. The robbers stated on the written note that if they failed to do so, they would be robbed individually.
In the notice partly written in Yoruba, the robbers made it clear that the money should be given to the community chairman so that when they invade the community, they would easily get the money.
The notice reads, “Notice, this is to inform you that, we, thieves are coming to rob every house in your community or you should contribute the sum of twenty million naira and keep it with your community Chairman so that we would pick it up when we come.”
The robbers disclosed that they would be invading the community with full force and that any local vigilante that attempts to stand in their way would be eliminated.
Since the notice was written, many people fled from their homes for fear of their lives. Although, local vigilantes have been deployed to safeguard the community from any form of attack. Residents of the community called on security operatives to take the issue seriously and come to their aid.
Meanwhile, security outfits in Osun said they were already on top of the situation.

Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Osun Command, has assured the residents not to entertain any fear as the police were fully prepared to deal decisively with the threat.
She stated that the Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode had encouraged residents to report any strange movement in their communities to the nearest police formation or access the Osun Police Control Room numbers via 08039537995 and 08123823981.
