Pastor Helen Ukpabio Demands ₦200Bn from Bloody Civilian Over Defamation Claims
Popular Nigerian pastor Helen Ukpabio has demanded N200 billion in damages from singer Bloody Civilian over allegations of defamation.
The controversy began when Bloody Civilian accused Ukpabio, founder of Liberty Gospel Church, of advocating harmful practices, claiming she “literally made people burn their children alive.
” The accusation was made on X (formerly Twitter) in response to a post celebrating the pastor’s 60th birthday. The singer also shared a YouTube documentary criticizing Ukpabio’s methods and ideology.

Ukpabio’s daughter, Imabong, quickly reacted to the accusations, giving Bloody Civilian a five-hour ultimatum to delete the post or face legal consequences. However, the singer did not comply.
In a letter from Ukpabio’s legal representatives, the pastor described the accusations as “reckless, satanic, and libellous,” demanding N200 billion in compensation for distress, trauma, and reputational damage. Ukpabio also requested a public apology from Bloody Civilian.

Responding to the legal threat, Bloody Civilian appeared unbothered, humorously addressing the situation on her X handle. She teased, “Guys, they just sued me for 200 billion naira. This December, I will be adding the following to my services: standup comedy, weddings, and settling disputes.”
The feud has drawn significant attention on social media, with users expressing varying opinions on the matter. While some support Bloody Civilian for speaking out, others caution against making unfounded allegations.
