EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to a statement released by Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, media aide to the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, the crime took place in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The statement revealed that Ogechukwu’s uncle, Samuel Onuorah, led the family in filing a complaint with the ministry.
Onuorah alleged that Ibeabuchi had initially claimed that Ogechukwu died after falling from a four-story building.
However, upon inspecting her body at the mortuary, the family found evidence suggesting otherwise—Ogechukwu had been stabbed in the neck and chest.
Seeking justice, the family presented their findings to the commissioner.
In response, Commissioner Obinabo called for support from women’s groups, human rights organizations, and the public to demand justice.
She assured that the state government would thoroughly investigate the case and that justice would be served.
