EKO HOT BLOG reports that the PDP claimed that the Nigeria Police and other security operatives, acting on APC’s instructions, took over its National Secretariat at Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, on Monday, June 30, 2025, and prevented the meeting from holding as planned.
Naija News reports that the security forces also barred members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and staff from accessing the premises.
In a statement posted via its official 𝕏 handle, the PDP directly blamed the APC for the incident. The party wrote, “Federal Police and other security agencies, on the orders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are harassing Board of Trustees members and staff of our party’s National Secretariat in a bid to stop the scheduled meeting.”
The development has intensified concerns over political interference and rising tensions between the ruling party and the opposition.
Meanwhile, in a related development, PDP stakeholders in Sokoto and Kebbi States have announced their readiness to join any credible political coalition capable of challenging the APC’s dominance in the 2027 general elections.
In Sokoto, sources revealed that top PDP leaders, including former Governor Aminu Tambuwal, have agreed to merge with the newly formed All Democratic Alliance (ADA), which is among 110 political parties currently seeking registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to a party insider, the decision was finalised during a crucial stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, where the group concluded plans to defect from the PDP to the ADA to strengthen the opposition’s position ahead of 2027.
