EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued on Saturday, the Forum’s Director General, Emmanuel Agbo, dismissed the speculation as false and misleading, affirming that PDP governors remain committed to supporting only the party’s official presidential candidate.
The denial follows reports alleging that five PDP governors were secretly endorsing an El-Rufai/Obi ticket. However, the Forum, led by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, condemned the reports as provocative attempts to sow discord within the party.
“The PDP Governors’ Forum, under the leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed, openly denounces these unpleasant and misleading publications being peddled by elements who cannot accept the Forum’s unwavering stance on good governance,” the statement read.
The Forum reiterated its commitment to strengthening the party, promoting good governance at the state level, and resisting any political maneuvering that undermines its integrity. It also accused unnamed individuals of attempting to weaken the opposition and entrench a one-party system through divisive tactics and misinformation.
It further emphasized that PDP governors remain focused on alleviating economic hardship in their respective states despite challenges posed by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“In the world of politics, rumors and speculations are common, but we will not allow enemies of progress and agents of confusion to mislead Nigerians with false narratives,” the Forum stated.

Reaffirming its dedication to democratic principles, the PDP Governors’ Forum vowed to stand firmly behind the party’s official flag-bearer in 2027, with the goal of reclaiming power at the federal level.
