EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed grave concern over a foiled terrorist attack aimed at its Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and other crucial locations in Yola, Adamawa State.
In a statement released on Monday from Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, highlighted the party’s anxiety, suspecting that this incident might be part of a broader scheme to obstruct their efforts in reclaiming what they perceive as their “stolen” presidential mandate.

Ologunagba stated, “The PDP firmly believes that, according to the revelations from the arrested assailants, this plot bears the hallmarks of a sponsored attempt on the life of Atiku Abubakar. It is evidently orchestrated by forces unsettled by his pursuit to reclaim his mandate at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).”
“The Party is concerned that the masterminds behind this sinister plot aim to silence our Presidential Candidate, endanger innocent Nigerians, and plunge the nation into chaos, confusion, and anarchy,” Ologunagba added.
The PDP also questioned the potential connections between this foiled attack on Atiku Abubakar and the recent threats of chaos and anarchy made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) if the PEPC upholds the clear provisions of the Nigerian Constitution regarding the requirements for declaring a Presidential election winner under Section 134.
“There are concerns whether this attempt to create insecurity in Adamawa State, the home state of our Presidential Candidate, is a deliberate strategy to justify imposing a State of Emergency in Adamawa, and potentially, throughout the entire country,” the statement further questioned.
The PDP called on the Inspector General of Police to use the information provided by the captured assailants to track down their sponsors and bring them to justice in the interest of national security, unity, and wellbeing.
“The Federal Government bears the responsibility to Nigerians and the global community to ensure that the perpetrators of these heinous acts and their backers face the full force of the law. Given the scale and magnitude of the attempted attack, this investigation holds great importance for the nation,” the party asserted.
In light of the incident, the PDP also urged security agencies to strengthen protection around Atiku Abubakar and his family during this critical period in the democratic process.
