The League of Epe Division Youth and Students’ Association (LEYOSA) once again made history on Saturday, March 8, 2025, as it hosted the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Chief of Staff, Lagos State, Mr. Kadri Semiu Oluwashanu, along with other dignitaries, in a thought-provoking discussion on the role of technology in Epe’s economic growth.
Ekohotblog reports that the event, marking the third edition of LEYOSA’s annual conference, brought together policymakers, scholars, and youth leaders to explore how technological advancements can drive development in the Epe community while fostering unity and progress.

Mr. Kadri, visibly impressed by LEYOSA’s dedication, commended the association for its consistency in promoting youth empowerment and community development.
“Over the past three years, this association has made commendable strides in promoting youth empowerment, education, and community development.
Your efforts have not only inspired hope but have also laid a foundation for future generations to thrive,” he stated.
“To all members of LEYOSA, I say thank you—your dedication to progress is truly admirable.”
While analyzing the impact of technology on economic growth, Mr. Kadri emphasized the need for Epe to harness digital advancements for sustainable development.
“The impact of technology on economies and societies is multifaceted and profound.
On one hand, technological advancements such as AI and automation have increased efficiency and productivity, transformed industries, and created new markets.
This has led to economic growth by expanding global connectivity, facilitating e-commerce, and enhancing access to information and resources,” he explained.
He further stressed that Epe must embrace digital solutions to remain competitive in the evolving economic landscape, urging stakeholders to invest in digital infrastructure and skill development programs.
In her lecture, the Guest Lecturer, Dr. Akinrinola Fatimah, underscored the importance of providing accessible internet services for students and young entrepreneurs in Epe.
She called on the local government to invest in community WiFi and other digital resources.
“If we want our youths to thrive in the digital economy, we must ensure they have access to affordable and reliable internet services.
The government should consider setting up community WiFi hotspots and equipping educational institutions with modern technology,” she advised.
Also speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to the Epe Local Government Chairman on Special Duties and Wealth Creation, Hon. Ladele Ibrahim, urged youths to remain committed to their goals despite challenges.
“Success comes to those who stay dedicated and work hard. Technology has opened doors for endless opportunities, and our youths must leverage it wisely,” he encouraged.
Similarly, the Youth Coordinator of Ikosi-Ejinrin, Com. Adetola, emphasized unity and collaboration among young people.
“Epe’s progress depends on how well its youth work together. We must support each other and embrace innovation for our collective growth,” he stated.
The Director-General of LEYOSA, Ambassador Kadri Adedolapo Morgan, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to youth development, urging members to actively participate in initiatives that promote education and entrepreneurship.
