The atmosphere at the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat in Igando-Oloja was filled with celebration and optimism on Monday, July 28, 2025, as Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa was sworn in for a second term as the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
Ekohotblog reports that also inaugurated was Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji as Vice Chairman, in a ceremony that attracted dignitaries from federal and state levels, traditional rulers, party stakeholders, and residents from across the council area.

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the grassroots to national level, praised Hon. Olowa’s impactful first term and pledged continued support for his administration.
In his inaugural address, Hon. Olowa highlighted achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth empowerment over the past four years.
“The journey so far has been one of service, sacrifice, and sincerity of purpose,” he said. “We are proud of how far we’ve come, but I assure you, we are just getting started.
My second term will focus more on innovation, inclusive governance, and sustainable development.”
The event also featured the official proclamation and inauguration of the 10th Legislative Council of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, which took place in the Council’s Legislative Chamber.
The session was presided over by the Council Clerk, Mrs. Akinfala Oluwakemi Aramide, who welcomed attendees and declared the legislative chamber open.
During the inauguration, councillors-elect took their oaths of office, and new council leadership emerged. Hon. Olayinka Mojeed Oluwafemi of Ward F was elected Leader of the House, with Hon. Ogungbo Nurudeen Tunde of Ward B as Deputy Leader, and Hon. Eletu Zainab Ayobola of Ward E as Majority Leader.

Commending the Executive Chairman, Hon. Mojeed Fatai remarked, “In just four years, Ibeju-Lekki has witnessed meaningful growth in all sectors. This is what real governance looks like.”
Hon. Saheed Ibile described Hon. Olowa as a leader driven by integrity and a strong passion for grassroots development.
