Many Nigerians, on Saturday, took to the streets in peaceful protests against bad governance, public corruption, other forms of maladministration and the rising tide of insecurity across the country.
Like the #EndSARS protests which shook the country in October 2020, the June 12 protest, organised by some civil society organisations and activists with no particular central leadership structure, is presently underway simultaneously in different cities across the various states of the federation, especially in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory.

Similarly, social media has been awash with photos and videos of the protest in various locations prompting the hashtag #June12Protest which has garnered over one million tweets as of 11:15am on Saturday.
