Social media was flooded with news that a stray bullet which was allegedly fired by Soldiers killed a student of the Imo State University, Owerri, near the Douglas House, the seat of government.
Divine Nwaneri, a 24-year-old 100-level student of Soil Science and Biotechnology and Nollywood Actress , was the victim.
The late Divine Nwaneri was a native of Umukam in Obollo Community in the Isiala Mbano Council of Imo state. Soldiers on guard allegedly shot her to death around 10pm on Monday while she was being driven in a car. Divine and the driver were hit by the bullets but unfortunately she was the only one who died.
Reacting to the sad news, students of Imo State University and youths in the state took the streets to protest over the unfortunate death of miss Divine Nwaneri.

During the protest, a lady was seen carrying a placard with a message demanding Justice for death of Divine Nwaneri.
Another lady carried a placard that sends a message, that she is loved and will always be remembered. It reads- ‘We Love You Divine’.
A lady who couldn’t hide her emotions was captured crying. The protest had an atmosphere of sadness and shock as many of her friends still couldn’t believe she died this way.
Apart from being a student hoping to graduate and impact her society positively, Divine Nwaneri was an upcoming Nollywood actress many tipped to become a star, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
