Pictures & Names Of Arrested Bandits Who Disguise As Herdsmen In The Day But Rob People At Night

  • In the early hours of yesterday, Amotekun Corps, in collaboration with the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) arrested six bandits in Oyo forest.
  • The arrest was made during the joint routine patrol operation of the operatives along two routes within Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement which was made by the commander of Amotekun in Oyo State, Col. Olayinka, he said that the suspected bandits were arrested in separate incidents after they had encounter with them at two illegal roadblocks.

Olayinka said that when they encountered them, they took to their heels and tried to evade arrest, but their men chased after them and were able to get some of them, but unfortunately, some of them escaped. He said that they are still trying to track those that escaped.

The names of the arrested suspects were given as – Awali Atine, Ibrahim Abu, Shuaib Balau, Ibrahim Musa, Abdullah and Umar Aliu Masika.

Olayinka also revealed the bandits’ mode of operation. He said that during the day, they would pretend to be herdsmen, and at night they would be at highways to rob innocent passengers.

Following their arrest, several items were recovered from the suspects, which included money, cows and weapons. The sum of N268,470, 183 cows and some weapons were found with them.

According to him, they have been handed over to the police, Okeho Divisional Headquarters together with the items recovered from them for further investigation.

He urged those who have information that could help the law enforcement agents in their investigations to come forward with the information.

In the past months, there have been several clashes between herdsmen and residents of the communities in some parts of the South-West.

Residents of the communities have lamented that the criminals parade themselves as herdsmen to carry out atrocious activities on communities in the region. These clashes have led to several loss of lives and the destruction of properties in the region,  EKO HOT BLOG  gathered.
