Poland Moves To Invoke NATO’s Article 4 As President Andrzej Confirms Attack

Poland is set to invoke NATO’s Article four after President Andrzej Duda of Poland confirmed Russia’s missile attack.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Polish Foreign Ministery has reportedly confirmed that a Russian-made rocket fell on a Polish village, house after two missiles hit the country killing two people.

The ministry stated that a Russian-produced rocket fell on the village of Przewodow at 3.40pm local time, near the border with Ukraine.

It further informed that it had summoned the Russian ambassador.

Poland Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called the residents to stay “calm” after the alleged missile strike.

He said that Poland has decided to increase “monitoring of polish air space”.

He said: “We are working to establish the causes of the explosion in Przewodów.
“Investigations are underway. It was most likely a Russian-made missile.”

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with Poland.

He said in a tweet: “I have just spoken to Polish President @andrzejdudafollowing reports of a missile strike in Poland.

“I reiterated the UK’s solidarity with Poland and expressed condolences for the victims.
“We will remain in close contact and continue to coordinate with our NATO allies.”

Mr Duda further stated: “Expressions of sympathy for two of our citizens, who died as a result of the explosion of most likely a rocket that fell on our territory.
“I have described the situation to all the leaders.

“Joe Biden declared that he would support us in the form of American experts who would help us in the investigation of the site of this event.”

Meanwhile, according to the reports, G7 leaders are arranging for an emergency summit meeting on Wednesday.
US President Joe Biden also expressed his condolences.

He tweeted: “I spoke with President Andrzej Duda of Poland to express my deep condolences for the loss of life in eastern Poland and offer our full support for Poland’s investigation of the explosion.
