Hundeyin urged members of the public to remain composed if confronted by criminals, particularly armed gangs, noting that attempting to fight back could put lives at greater risk.

According to him, survival should be the immediate priority in such situations, as law enforcement agencies can later track down and apprehend the perpetrators.
“If you ever find yourself in the hands of criminals, do not resist or engage them. Stay calm and focus on staying alive. Our responsibility as the police is to go after them and ensure they are brought to justice,” he said.

The police spokesperson also revealed that security agencies have made significant strides in dismantling criminal networks, including the notorious ‘one-chance’ robbery syndicates operating within the Federal Capital Territory.
He disclosed that recent operations led to the arrest of suspects connected to the killing of a legal practitioner in Abuja, adding that the victim’s stolen mobile phone had also been recovered.
Hundeyin assured Nigerians that the police remain committed to combating crime and improving public safety, while urging citizens to cooperate with security agencies by prioritising their safety and reporting incidents promptly.
