Alfred also issued a stern warning to anyone planning to cause trouble, stating that the police would not tolerate electoral violence.
The election comes after 11 political parties signed a peace agreement, facilitated by the Plateau State Peace Building Agency (PPBA) in collaboration with the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC).
Julie Sanda, Director General of PPBA, highlighted that the peace accord aims to ensure a violence-free and fair electoral process, encouraging peaceful conduct by political parties and their supporters.
She further noted that the peace accord reinforces the commitment to democracy, transparency, and dialogue throughout the election, with proactive measures in place to prevent violence at every stage.
