Presidency Responds To Nigerians Labeling Tinubu ‘T-Pain’
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has addressed social media criticisms of the president, assuring Nigerians that Tinubu is not indifferent to their economic struggles.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Onanuga responded to claims that Tinubu has been nicknamed “T-pain” by some Nigerians online, clarifying that the president is focused on alleviating economic hardship, not causing it.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Onanuga emphasized that Tinubu is aware of the difficulties Nigerians are experiencing due to inflation and other economic pressures, and he remains committed to improving the economy. “President Tinubu feels the pain of Nigerians and has assured them that better days are near,” Onanuga said, adding that while inflation has impacted citizens, the country is still seeing signs of economic growth and increased revenue.
Addressing the social media nickname “T-pain,” Onanuga dismissed it as a product of mischief, clarifying that the president does not read social media and remains focused on his plans for economic recovery.
“The President has never shied away from telling Nigerians that he feels their pain and is working hard to ensure relief,” he said, reaffirming that Tinubu’s administration is dedicated to bringing prosperity to the nation.
Onanuga also noted the complexities of managing an economy under strain, reiterating that while challenges exist, the administration is taking steps toward economic stability and growth, emphasizing a long-term outlook for improving the lives of Nigerians.
