President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for Olumode Samuel Adeyemi to take over as the next Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

EKO HOT BLOG reports that, his new role is set to begin on August 14, 2025, following the retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, upon reaching the age of 60 on August 1, 2025. Major Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd) made the announcement of this leadership change on behalf of President Tinubu, as stated by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
DCG Adeyemi is well-versed in this significant position having possessed experience in various fields. His experience in various fields includes serving with the FCT Fire Service before joining the Federal Fire Service, where he steadily climbed the ranks eventually reaching the position of Deputy Controller-General of Fire within the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.

He has also honed his skills through various specialized training programs and command courses, both within Nigeria and internationally, ensuring his readiness for this top role. His professional affiliations are extensive, as he is a recognized member and fellow of prominent bodies such as the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management.
The CDCFIB expressed profound appreciation for the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola. They acknowledged his considerable dedication and the many initiatives he led that significantly contributed to the growth and improvement of the Federal Fire Service.
The Board anticipates that Adeyemi will build on these achievements, propelling the Federal Fire Service towards further progress and innovation.
