EKO HOT BLOG reports that a market survey conducted this week shows sharp increases in the cost of both regular and specialised cement products across retail outlets. The hike is worsening affordability for small-scale builders and affecting the pace of infrastructure development nationwide.

While these prices vary slightly depending on location, retailer, and quantity purchased, the consistent upward trend reflects deepening cost pressures in the construction industry.
POP Cement, commonly used for ceiling and interior decoration, previously sold for around ₦8,000 but has now climbed to ₦10,000. White Cement, used for decorative plastering and tiling, has doubled in price in some regions.

Fire Cement, used in high-temperature industrial facilities like kilns and furnaces, is now sold for as much as ₦33,000, making it one of the most expensive on the market.
