Properties Worth Millions Lost as Fire Guts Seven Shops in Ibadan

- Seven shops destroyed in Sango, no casualties, millions in damages.
- Focus Holiday Inn in Garki hit by massive fire, extensive damage, delayed response.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the fire incident did not result in any casualties. The cause of the blaze remains unknown as of the time of reporting.
Confirming the incident, Yemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, said: “Our men promptly responded to the call and arrived to find seven shops already ablaze.
We swiftly controlled the fire, preventing it from spreading to other shops and nearby buildings.”

Akinyinka added that the fire caused significant property damage while no lives were lost. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the inferno.
In a similar incident, a massive fire engulfed Focus Holiday Inn, a renowned hotel in the Garki area of Abuja, early Tuesday morning.
The blaze reportedly started around 3 a.m., when a guest, unclothed, rushed to the reception to alert staff about the fire.

EKO HOT BLOG reported that the fire, which began in one section of the three-story building, spread rapidly, causing extensive destruction before emergency services arrived.
Initial attempts to contact the fire service were unsuccessful, leading to delays. Firefighters were eventually able to respond and were battling to contain the flames as of the time of this report.
