List Of States That Have Announced Public Holiday For Teachers’ Day

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has declared Monday, October 7, 2024, a public holiday for teachers in the state in celebration of World Teachers’ Day.

The announcement was made through a statement by the state’s Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Moddibo Kawu, to acknowledge the vital role teachers play in the education sector.

• Ogun State: Governor Dapo Abiodun declared Monday, October 7, 2024, a work-free day for teachers. Schools in the state are expected to resume academic activities on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

• Osun State: Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared Monday a public holiday for teachers in both public and private schools in the state. The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, recognizing teachers’ invaluable contributions to the growth of the education sector.

These decisions reflect a nationwide appreciation of teachers on World Teachers’ Day, as states come together to honor the hard work and dedication of educators in shaping the future of the nation.
