Real Madrid have agreed personal terms with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande as the Spanish giants move closer to signing the highly rated teenager.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the development comes after Paris Saint Germain (PSG) withdrew from the race for the 19 year old Ivory Coast international, clearing the way for Madrid to complete the deal.
Diomande attracted interest from several top European clubs during the summer transfer window, with Liverpool and PSG among the teams pursuing his signature.
Liverpool were the first club to make a serious move for the winger, submitting a £69m bid to Leipzig in June. However, the Bundesliga club rejected the offer, prompting the Premier League side to turn their attention to other targets.
PSG remained interested in Diomande and reportedly made a final attempt to sign him with a £102.5m bid on Sunday. Leipzig rejected the offer, after which the French champions decided against entering a bidding battle with Real Madrid.
Madrid have now reached an agreement with Diomande over personal terms and are expected to pay more than £100m to secure his signature.
The proposed contract is understood to feature a performance based structure similar to the deal given to England midfielder Jude Bellingham, with incentives that could increase Diomande’s earnings over time.
Diomande only joined Leipzig from Spanish club Leganes last summer, signing a five year contract with the Bundesliga side. However, his rapid development has made him one of the most sought after young players in European football.
Sources close to Real Madrid said key negotiators Jose Angel and Juni Calafat had monitored Diomande for about five years. They also insisted that the club’s interest in the winger was not influenced by his performances at the World Cup.
Leipzig have made efforts to retain the forward but reportedly accept that continued interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, combined with the possibility of a record transfer fee, has made his future increasingly difficult to secure.
Diomande enjoyed a breakthrough 2025/26 campaign, winning the Bundesliga Young Player of the Season award after scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists.
His rise through professional football has been rapid. After leaving his native Ivory Coast, Diomande moved to a football academy in the United States in 2025 before joining Leganes.
His performances at the Spanish club eventually earned him a move to Leipzig, where he continued his impressive development and attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
