EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement released by Olufemi O. Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, the company emphasized that no recruitment is currently underway for the refinery. It was further clarified that there is no separate recruitment process for PHRC, apart from the general one initiated last year that covers all NNPC Ltd operations.
Candidates who successfully passed the Computer-Based Aptitude Test are scheduled to proceed to the interview stage later this week.
“The recruitment link circulating on various platforms is the work of fraudsters aiming to exploit the recent revitalization of the Port Harcourt Refinery, attempting to deceive the public with a fake recruitment notice,” the company stated. “We urge the public to be cautious and avoid falling victim to this scam.”
Meanwhile, Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson, has publicly acknowledged his past doubts about the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (NNPCL) capacity to deliver positive outcomes. He revealed that he and former President Olusegun Obasanjo once believed that nothing positive could emerge from the NNPCL.
Okupe made these remarks in a statement issued in honor of Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, on his 60th birthday. Okupe expressed his regret for previously underestimating Kyari’s leadership, and praised his achievements at the helm of NNPCL.
In his statement, Okupe reflected on his past skepticism, stating, “I, along with President Obasanjo, once doubted the ability of NNPCL to bring about positive change. I dismissed Mr. Mele Kyari’s leadership, even ridiculing the notion of NNPCL’s success. Today, I deeply admire the remarkable progress under his leadership.”
