EKO HOT BLOG reports that the final batch of 115 students kidnapped from the school in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area, regained their freedom, bringing the total number of rescued children to about 265.
The release brings an end to a month long ordeal that began on November 21, 2025, when armed gunmen attacked the boarding school in the early hours of the day.
During the attack, the assailants abducted 303 students and 12 teachers, making it one of the largest mass school kidnappings recorded in recent Nigerian history.
Shortly after the abduction, about 50 students reportedly escaped from their captors, while another 100 were released on December 8 following sustained security operations and negotiations.
The release of the remaining 115 students marked the final phase of the rescue effort and ended weeks of anxiety for parents, guardians, and the affected community.
Security sources said coordinated operations involving intelligence gathering and pressure on the kidnappers played a key role in securing the students’ freedom.
Families of the rescued children expressed relief and gratitude, as the students are expected to undergo medical and psychological evaluation before being reunited fully with their loved ones.

Authorities have assured that investigations will continue to track down those responsible for the attack and prevent similar incidents in the future.
