He was joined by Hon. Shakiru Adebanjo, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, and key school leaders, including principals Mr. Jimoh Muhammed and Mrs. Ayodele. Alhaja Olushola Alade-Raji, the president of the Epe Grammar School Old Students Association (EGOSA), also participated as they reviewed the progress of important projects aimed at improving the school. These initiatives focus on creating a conducive learning environment by upgrading various academic facilities and facilitating necessary innovations.

During the tour, they inspected several major projects at Epe Grammar School, including a new boys’ hostel, a classroom block, a principal’s lodge, a corpers’ lodge, a dining hall, a modern kitchen, and a network of roads around the school. The project engineer assured them that all work would be completed within three months.

In an interview with EKO HOT BLOG, Rep. Raji emphasized the importance of Epe Grammar School, highlighting its vital role in promoting education in the Epe Division and the state. He noted that the school is the first secondary school in the area and has produced many notable individuals, including Professor Femi Agbalajobi and former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji.

Rep. Raji explained his motivation for the long-overdue renovation of the school facilities: “When I was a student here, the facilities were okay, but we can always do better. As a former student, I wanted to give back.”

He mentioned that they have paved the roads within the school, built a mini stadium for sports, and are currently renovating the old classrooms.

Regarding the new boys’ hostel, he said, “Two years ago, we built a 100-bed hostel for boys, but it was given to the girls. Now, we are constructing a new hostel specifically for boys.”

Students and staff expressed their gratitude for the ongoing projects. Adeniran Michael, an SS3C student, remarked, “These upgrades will make learning much better for us. The mini stadium will enhance our sports activities, but we also hope to get a proper library and more facilities to improve learning.”

Both principals praised Rep. Raji’s efforts, stating that it is important to have leaders who bring about real change.

“This is the kind of leadership that ensures people benefit from democracy,” noted one principal.

Alhaja Olushola Alade-Raji, president of EGOSA, expressed gratitude to Rep. Raji for his contributions but urged the Lagos State government for additional support.

“The improvements have been significant, and we are very thankful. However, we hope the state government will consider allowing more students to be admitted, especially the children of former students,” she added.

With the project set to conclude in three months, Epe Grammar School is expected to transform into a modern learning center that promotes both academic success and student well-being
