They said Osbourne died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, and called for privacy during this difficult time.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement read.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time – Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.”
Ozzy Osbourne, fondly dubbed the ‘Prince of Darkness’, gained global fame as the frontman of heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath.
He delivered his final stage performance earlier this month at Villa Park in Birmingham, appearing with fellow bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward.
The farewell concert, described by fans as “the greatest heavy metal show ever,” featured a five-song set and heartfelt moments including a surprise marriage proposal to his daughter Kelly.
Fans roared as Ozzy smiled, waved and took his final bow, closing a career spanning more than five decades of global musical impact.
Despite his bold stage presence, the music icon had faced serious health challenges in recent years, particularly his public battle with Parkinson’s disease diagnosed in 2020.
That diagnosis, coupled with mobility issues and surgeries, ultimately led him to step away from live performances permanently.
Osbourne’s death has prompted a global outpouring of grief from music lovers, fellow artists, and industry legends.
Tributes continue to flood social media, with fans praising his originality, influence and unforgettable contribution to rock history.
Ozzy leaves behind a legacy as a cultural icon, not just in music, but in fashion, television and popular culture at large.
