The American dream is a national spirit that is synonymous with prosperity and success through hard work and commitment, accurately representing the hypothesis that collocates hard work and success.
This hypothesis is not only the national ethos that is exclusively reserved for the leader of the free world but the spirit of global reckoning that applies to any part of the world.
Buying a new house or owning a home is one of the most significant achievements in life.
It represents the actualisation of one’s dream, the reward of the years of hard work and the crowning of victory of one struggle over the vicissitudes of life.
On January 9th, Rose Emiko, a U.S based health care provider played the host to her friends, family members and well-wishers as she opened the doors to her palatial mansion, a grand edifice, in a heartwarming house warming ceremony and Thanksgiving service.
For Rose Emiko, it was a watershed moment in her life and a dream come true, the realisation of both her America and Nigeria dream, a true reward for years of hard work.
They all came in droves from far and near, including the diaspora group, particularly from Chicago, to celebrate with her and identify with such an auspicious moment in her life.
What a moment it was! A proud moment indeed and a time to appreciate the unfailing mercies of God in her life for sustaining her from the conceptualisation stage through the construction stage and the house warming stage.
In her words during the interview with Ekohotblog, Rose said, “I feel fulfilled. I feel accomplished, and this is a dream come true.”
She also expressed her appreciation to God that had enabled her to weather the storm through every difficult period occasioned by the dreaded virus to witness such a moment in her life.
“I thank God for the grace and mercy and for giving me the ability to start the project and witness its completion.
“That I survived the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the 4th wave of the virus to witness today is compelling enough to thank God for the gift of life and His uncommon display of benevolence in my life”.
The event kicked off with a Thanksgiving service at the Celestial Church of Christ with friends and family members in attendance.
The Pastor of the Church, in his message, reiterated the significance of a home, not only as a place of abode but a place built with love and dreams.
“It is a place where we all reside and where memories are created, where friends and family belong, just as they are all gathered in the church today in the celebration of such an accomplishment”.
He admonished the celebrant to continuously seek God’s guidance, love, blessings and presence in her new home.
The reception, the official cutting of the tape, and the house warming ceremony followed immediately after the church service with skilful moderation of the event by the chairman of the Occasion, an erudite man of God and an accomplished businessman.
Mr Hakeem Oguniran, a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, a real estate Mogul, an accomplished businessman and the chairman of The Board – Lagos State Building Investment Corporation LBIC, was on top of the game in his dual roles as the officiating pastor and the chairman of the reception.
It was indeed a brilliant display of his oratory dexterity entwined with spiritual intonation befitting of a man of God of his calibre.
While congratulating Rose on such a milestone, he also reminded her that homeownership is beyond a personal fulfilment but should be seen as a sanctuary of humanity, love, peace and serenity.
“It represents the journey and the challenges of her life crowned with such a success story.”
“God has been good to you and, I charge you to continue to be humility personified while using your resources to build a home and a sanctuary for others”, he admonished Rose.
Alhaji Jamiu Ninalowo, one of the guests and an uncle to the celebrant, described her as a hardworking individual that deserves nothing but the best.
“It has been quite a journey but a journey of commitment, dedication anchored by her faith ”.I pray she will continually experience joy and happiness in her new home.”
Dayo Olatunji Dasilva, a Chicago based businessman, the husband of the celebrant, in his words, said, I am probably one of the happiest now, for the journey to this stage has not been smooth but for Gods mercy. I thank God for Rose’ life.
The master of ceremony and the DJ are also on top of their games as most guests were literally on their feet throughout the event that lasted until midnight.
The cutting of the cake and the celebrant’s dance were part of the highlights of the epochal event.
Congratulations to Rose.
