Russian President Putin Says US Presence In Afghanistan Ended In Tragedies
- The President of Russia; Vladimir Putin noted on Wednesday that the United States of America’s 20-year military campaign in Afghanistan was not only tragical for America but also ended in losses. Something that appears close to the mockery of the unprofitable venture by the US.
EkohotBlog report that the Russian President has a track record of criticizing countries, especially western countries for trying to impose their values on non-Western nations. Recall that Russia has once invaded Afghanistan in 1979 under the pretext of upholding a treaty between them and Afghanistan. This strategic competition between Moscow and Washington made Joe described both Russia and China as their “Strategic enemies” in his Presidential address on Afghanistan, stating that nothing would make the two countries happier than America continuing her unproductive vocation in Russia.
US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 is one of the rarest actions that is described as being legitimate by some analysts because it was done in the interest of America. Their stay there after achieving what threatened their soil is what is being faulted across the globe. Admittedly, Joe Biden, President of the United States admitted to that error.
Moscow has on countless occasions slammed the US policy in Afghanistan, which is now controlled by the Taliban after their takeover this month ahead of the American pullout on August 31.
President Vladimir Putin stated on Wednesday that the US army tried to “engrain their norms” in war-ravaged Afghanistan for two decades, which he characterized as a wasted effort and squandering of their national wealth.

He stressed further that “The result is only tragedies, only losses for those that did it — for the US — and even more so for the people who live on Afghan territory,” he said.
It is “impossible to impose anything from outside”, he said.
A week ago, President Putin had said Moscow will not interfere in Afghanistan and that Russia had learned from the Soviet occupation of the country. Afghanistan is dubbed as the “graveyard of empires,” Britain, Russia, and America had all lost their expedition and military experiments on the land.
Moscow has been cautiously optimistic about the new leadership in Kabul, saying it would not meddle in domestic affairs.
