Russian Strike on Poltava Disrupts Power Supply

Russia’s nighttime assault on Ukraine’s central Poltava region has inflicted damage on the energy infrastructure, leaving 20 settlements without power, officials reported on Tuesday.

Falling drone debris struck several homes, though fortunately, no casualties were reported, according to regional governor Filip Pronin in a statement shared via Telegram. Emergency teams are currently working to restore the power supply.

“Debris also damaged the energy infrastructure in Poltava region, leaving 20 settlements without power,” Pronin confirmed.

In Zaporizhzhia, located in northeastern Ukraine, a separate attack on Monday claimed one life and left at least seven others injured, including a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy, as reported by the regional governor, Ivan Fedorov.

Ukraine’s air force managed to intercept and shoot down 66 of the 81 drones launched by Russia overnight, but lost track of 13 drones and four missiles, according to a Telegram post by the air force.

Meanwhile, in the Kyiv region, authorities successfully extinguished two fires triggered by the attack.

Thankfully, no homes or vital facilities were struck, as confirmed by regional governor Ruslan Kravchenko.
