Salome Adaidu: Gospel Artist Timilehin Ajayi Arraigned in Court for Murder

- Police arraigned Timilehin Ajayi, a gospel singer, in Nasarawa State High Court over Salome Adaidu’s murder.
- Ajayi allegedly killed and dismembered Adaidu, a 24-year-old NYSC member, out of jealousy.
- The victim’s family demands justice, denying any knowledge of a relationship with the suspect.
The 32-year-old arrived at the Nasarawa State High Court in Lafia, the state capital, on Friday.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ajayi is accused of dismembering his purported girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, during her visit to his residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
Before her tragic death, the 24-year-old victim was a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), serving at Nicon Insurance in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The suspect was apprehended on Sunday, January 12, while attempting to dispose of Salome’s head after allegedly killing her and dismembering her body. He was paraded at the Nasarawa State Police Command headquarters on Tuesday alongside the knife and machetes allegedly used in the crime.

In an exclusive interview with Channels Television, Ajayi admitted to the killing, claiming it was unplanned and driven by jealousy.
“I killed her because we didn’t have each other all the time. It’s not something I planned. It happened that day,” he said. “Not that I had it in mind; she was cheating. She hid things from me most times. I found out from her phone, where I saw her chats with other guys. That’s why I decided [to act].”
When asked if he regretted his actions, Ajayi replied: “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal. That’s what I thought. If you must do something to someone, you have to be reciprocal with that person. You have to understand what that person is going through so you can put yourself in their position. That’s why I don’t have regrets, because we were compatible.”

The family of the deceased denied knowing Ajayi or any relationship between him and Salome.
Her elder sister, Esther Adaidu, said: “We don’t know this so-called Timi guy. We have never seen him until we were called and informed that he murdered and dismembered our sister.
“I demand and need justice to be served. He is the one who murdered my sister, and he has confirmed it.”
