The Lagos governor has appointed a new secretary for the board.

The new appointee is replacing Imam Abdulhakeem Kosoko who was appointed in January 2022.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has appointed Mr. Saheed Olayiwola Onipede as Secretary of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

The move comes after the government deployed the former occupant, Imam Abdulhakeem Kosoko, to another agency.
The letter of appointment, which was signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, stated that in approving Onipede’s appointment, due cognisance was taken of his track record in public service.
The Head of Service stressed further that he has no doubt that the new Board Secretary would bring his wealth of experience to bear on the mandate of the ggency to justify the confidence reposed in him by the governor.
Muri-Okunola also noted that the appointment is with immediate effect.
