Sanwo-Olu Presents Staff of Office to Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom

Ekohotblog reports that Oba Abdurasak Akanni Musa, the Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom in Eredo LCDA, received the staff of office and instrument of appointment on 6th December 2024.

The presentation took place at the Epe Local Government Secretariat and was conducted by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Kayode Robert, on behalf of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in his speech, described traditional rulers as key partners in promoting peace and development.

He praised the new king, saying, “Your Majesty, your selection by the kingmakers and acceptance by your people show their belief in your ability to lead. I urge you to work closely with other traditional leaders to promote unity and development in Igbooye and beyond.”

The governor also assured the audience that the state government would continue to support royal fathers and ensure equitable development across all parts of Lagos State, including the Epe Division.

The Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Monsuru Akinloye, represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Adesanya Lateef, congratulated the king and encouraged the people of Igbooye to collaborate with him for the progress of the community.

“Your Majesty brings great experience to this role,” Adesanya said. “We believe your reign will bring peace and growth to Igbooye and Eredo LCDA. Let us all join hands to support our king for the good of everyone.”

In his response, Oba Abdurasak Akanni Musa expressed gratitude and pledged to prioritize the development of Igbooye while preserving its traditions.
