Senate Adjourns For Two Weeks To Focus On 2025 Budget Defence

The Senate President emphasized that the 2025 budget was not just a financial document but a “blueprint of the aspirations and hopes of millions of Nigerians.” He called on lawmakers to ensure the budget serves as a catalyst for development, equity, and justice, in alignment with the collective dreams of the Nigerian people.

In addition to the budget, Akpabio underscored electoral reform as a top priority for the Senate, stressing its importance as the nation prepares for the next electoral cycle. He described electoral reform as both a legislative duty and a moral imperative, urging the Senate to provide Nigerians with a transparent, credible, and fair electoral system.
