EDITOR’S PICKS
Fiorentina struck first in the 15th minute through Lucas Martinez Quarta, but Atalanta responded quickly. Lookman set up Mateo Retegui with a superb cross, allowing him to level the score at 1-1.
The joy was short-lived for Atalanta, as Moise Kean restored Fiorentina’s lead, making it 2-1. However, Atalanta fought back with intensity and were rewarded just before halftime when Charles De Ketelaere scored to bring the game to 2-2.
In the dying moments of the first half, Lookman had his moment of brilliance. Receiving a long pass from deep in Atalanta’s half, he sprinted to the edge of the box, weaved past three Fiorentina defenders, and fired a low shot into the bottom left corner, giving Atalanta a 3-2 lead.
Fiorentina dominated possession in the second half but struggled to create clear chances. Atalanta had more opportunities, with Lookman missing a late chance from inside the box, but his earlier contribution was enough to secure the victory.
