He urged northern leaders to support the government’s efforts to restore economic stability and promote national cohesion, warning against divisive forces exploiting religious and ethnic sentiments.

“We must reject every attempt to divide us. Unity remains our collective strength,” Shettima said. He explained that while some grievances stem from legitimate calls for fairness, others arise from greed and manipulation.
The Vice President emphasised that the administration is open to every voice and committed to inclusive policies in education, enterprise, and governance. “This government belongs to you; your interests are well represented,” he told the northern elders.

Shettima noted that the region’s former stability and prosperity must be restored through peace and development. He added that the government is reforming agriculture through investment in agro-industrial zones and support for smallholder farmers.
The ACF delegation, led by Bashir Dalhatu, commended the government’s reforms and invited Shettima to the forum’s 25th anniversary celebration, where it plans to unveil an endowment fund for northern development.
