This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communications.
According to the statement, President Doumbouya’s inauguration is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 18, at the GLC Stadium in Nongo, Conakry.

Shettima’s participation, the statement noted, aligns with Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening regional leadership, expanding economic cooperation, and promoting global economic integration under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
It also reflects Nigeria’s leadership role within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), particularly its support for Guinea’s return to constitutional governance after a four-year transition period.
Beyond diplomatic solidarity, the visit is expected to deepen bilateral trade relations, with recent figures showing Nigerian exports to Guinea—especially manufactured and agricultural goods—rising to about $3.29 million.

President Doumbouya, a former colonel in Guinea’s special forces, came to power following a military takeover in September 2021 that removed then-President Alpha Condé, who had sought a controversial third term.
The development led to Guinea’s suspension from ECOWAS and the African Union, alongside regional sanctions and demands for a swift return to civilian rule.
After sustained negotiations and political reforms, elections were eventually held, paving the way for Doumbouya’s emergence as president and marking the end of the military transition.
Following the inauguration, the Vice President will travel to Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, to participate in the World Economic Forum scheduled for January 19 to 23, 2026.

The forum, themed “A Spirit of Dialogue,” will convene global leaders from government, business, civil society, and scientific communities to deliberate on pressing global challenges.
Key discussions are expected to focus on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, advanced biotechnology, and next-generation energy systems.
Shettima will also engage international investors and policymakers on Nigeria’s economic reforms, investment opportunities, and Africa’s role in building a resilient and inclusive global economy.
The Vice President is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of his engagements in Davos.
