Sonia Adesuwa, the estranged wife of former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo, took to her Instagram story on September 17 to share a heartfelt message with the footballer.

She expressed regret for any negative effects her posts may have had and praised Ighalo for his commitment as a father despite the challenges they faced.

Sonia wrote: “People often say I have a unique and captivating presence, which makes me cautious about who I let into my life. Ending a relationship or friendship is always difficult for me.

“To my dear superstar, we have shared a significant journey together, and I am deeply grateful for the grace God has shown us. We both made efforts to salvage our relationship, even amidst the divorce. I recognize the efforts you made to shield your family from the turmoil and your determination to be a loving father despite the pressures we faced.

“I also understand the emotional pain you have endured due to our separation, even as you try to project a facade of happiness on Instagram. You are a remarkable person, and I will always support you both physically and spiritually.

“I want to offer my sincere apologies for any harm my posts may have caused. Given the demands of your profession, peace is crucial for you, and I hold no bitterness towards you. I believe the greatest blessing for a child is to have a loving mother.
