Stewardship Account: Onigbongbo LCDA Chairman Holds Stakeholders Forum, Unveils Quintuple Projects

Eko Hot Blog reports that Onigbongbo LCDA Chairman, Hon Oladotun Olakanle, on Friday held a stakeholders’ meeting to give an account of his administration from July 2021 to July 2023.

Hon. Olakanle also seized the opportunity to unveil quintuple projects which are the groundbreaking of the new council secretariat, the commissioning of Akerele Street and Abule Onigbagbo area office, 100,000 naira for hundred people as well as the quarterly stipends to the elderly which has been ongoing for a while.

In his speech, he reminded the stakeholders to submit their inputs and requests for the 2023 budget.

“Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, let me at this point remind all our stakeholders that you can still submit inputs for next year’s budget up until 17th November 2023,” the Onigbongbo LCDA boss said.

“You can either submit through your community development Association or through the councillor representing your ward. We will continue to pursue our agenda of inclusiveness and even development.”

The party leaders, traditional rulers and beneficiaries were full of thanks and prayers to Hon. Olakanle for his performance in office in which they passed a vote of confidence in him.

The NULGE Chairman, Comrade Oladosu Ademola Saka, praised the Council Chairman for always putting the welfare of staff ahead by presenting a brand new bus to them and also the groundbreaking of the new council secretariat.

Some of the achievements of Hon. Olakanle include:

  1. Construction of area office at Abule Onigbagbo being powered by solar panel
  2. Drilling of borehole across the LCDA
  3. Construction of Akerele Road, Onigbongbo
  4. Construction of Esugbayi Ayoola, Cocker Road
  5. Grading of roads at Mopol barracks
  6. Rehabilitation of Jaiyeola Fajobi Road, Lawal Street, Olorunfunmi Street, under Opebi Link Bridge, Oregun PHC, Olusosun PHC, etc
  7. Purchase of refuse compactors and vehicles for Oba in Onigbongbo & Oregun as well as all political office holders
  8. Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Empowerment programmes
  9. Distribution of Exercise books and other writing materials to students
  10. Community-based medical outreach
  11. Regular supply of drugs to all PHCs in Onigbongbo
  12. Regular desilting and clearing of silted drainages.
