BREAKING: Students Trapped As UNIBEN Building Collapses
A storey building housing students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) collapsed on Saturday morning following heavy rainfall on Ekhator Street, Ekosodin, Benin City, Edo State.
The area is primarily known for housing students.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that as of the time of this report, several students were trapped inside the collapsed structure, prompting a rescue operation.
A student, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that a university rescue team had managed to pull out some of the trapped students, though several suffered serious injuries and were immediately taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Rescue teams are still searching for one student believed to be trapped under the debris. The victim reportedly made a distress call from inside the collapsed building, pleading for help as rescue efforts continue.
The Dean of Students of UNIBEN is at the scene, overseeing the ongoing rescue operation alongside the university team.

As of now, the university management has not released an official statement regarding the cause of the building’s collapse or the total number of students affected. Rescue efforts are still in progress.
