Nigeria’s Super Eagles have secured qualification for the Round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Tunisia 3-2 in a pulsating Group stage encounter on Saturday in Morocco.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the victory ensured Nigeria’s progression from the group, with goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman sealing the result.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 44th minute after rising to meet a well delivered cross from Lookman, giving the Super Eagles a deserved lead heading into halftime.
Nigeria extended their advantage shortly after the restart when captain Wilfred Ndidi found the net in the 50th minute. Once again, Lookman provided the assist, continuing his influential display in the match.
The Super Eagles made it 3-0 in the 70th minute as Lookman got on the scoresheet himself, calmly finishing after being set up by Osimhen.
Tunisia mounted a late comeback attempt, reducing the deficit in the 74th minute through Talbi. The North Africans were handed a further lifeline in the 87th minute when they were awarded a penalty following a handball by Bright Osayi Samuel. Abdi stepped up to convert the spot kick, making it 3-2.
Despite the late pressure, Nigeria held firm to secure all three points and confirm their place in the knockout stage of the tournament.

The Super Eagles will now face Uganda in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, with kickoff scheduled for 5 pm. Confidence remains high within the camp as Nigeria continues its quest for continental glory.
