Super Eagles Defeat Angola, Secure AFCON Semi Final Ticket
Eko Hot Blog reports that Nigeria’s super eagles have qualified for the semi final of the ongoing African Cup of Nations following a 1-0 victory over Angola.
Adeola Lookman’s first half strike was all the eagles needed to book the first semi final ticket as the defense team led by captain William Trost-Ekong put up another dominant display.

The Atalanta forward put the Super Eagles ahead in the 41st minute after Moses Simon beat Gaspart with pace before setting up a clean cutback.
His goal against Angola makes it the third time he has scored for Nigeria in the tournament and makes him the 4th Nigerian to score three goals or more in the history of the knockout stages of AFCON.
In the second half, the Super Eagles persistently sought a second goal, but the Angolan defense held firm.
Nigeria appeared to have doubled the lead when Victor Osimhen headed the ball into the net, but it was disallowed for offside.
Angola had a chance to equalize, but the ball hit the bar and rebounded for the Nigerian defense to clear.

Despite late pressure from Angola in the last ten minutes, the Super Eagles secured a spot in the semi-finals with a 1-0 victory.
Nigeria will meet the winner of the quarter final clash between Cape Verde or South Africa in the semi-final stage of the 2023 AFCON on February 7.
