Brighton coach Graham Potter has however confirmed the Nigerian international, alongside Malian midfieder Yves Bissouma will not be available for his side.
The 31-year-old made just eight appearances for Brighton last season and scored one goal in the process. He has also featured for the club once since the start of this season.
Balogun was part of the Super Eagles that won bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations championship staged in Egypt.
It was earlier reported that Nigeria held Ukraine to 2-2 draw in an international friendly match at the Dnipro Arena.
A goal each from Victor Osimhen and Joe Aribo powered the Super Eagles to two goals lead in the first half.
But the hosts salvaged a draw for themselves after scoring two quick goals towards the end of the game to share the spoils at the end of the encounter.
