EKO HOT BLOG reports that he explained that the first attack happened in early November, prompting his mother to alert him while he was serving in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State. He then arranged for his family’s belongings to be evacuated, unaware that the attackers would return.
According to him, his father stayed behind after the first raid to gather remaining property, believing the danger had passed. The attackers returned on November 27, killing his father and four members of their extended family.
Orkeghen said one of the attackers later called him using his father’s phone and confirmed the killing.
“He told me he killed my father and said I could come to the community to pick his corpse if I was bold enough,” he said.
He added that the caller warned he could be the next victim, leaving him devastated and helpless.
The corps member said the attackers, believed to be Fulani men, have since taken over the community, inviting more of their relatives and preventing displaced residents from returning.
“As I speak to you now, those who killed my father are everywhere in my community,” he said.
He alleged that after the first attack, a community leader who reported the incident to soldiers was chased away and beaten.

Orkeghen said several people have been killed across Chanchanji ward, with attacks still ongoing, while his father’s corpse remains unrecovered.
He appealed for urgent government intervention, saying displaced families have nowhere to return to.
