Argentina captain Lionel Messi has acknowledged that he is nearing the end of his professional football career.

The Inter Miami forward, who holds the record for the most trophies in football history, is in the final stages of his remarkable journey in the sport.

In an interview with Marca on Thursday, the 37-year-old, who has won 45 career trophies, reflected on his career and the places closest to his heart, saying, “The end is near, and I’m enjoying and appreciating every moment to the fullest.”

“Argentina and Barcelona are my home. Today, I’m also in a place where I feel very happy, a new stage in my life,” Messi added.
