Directs Inquiries to the Police

Contradicts Eyewitness Accounts
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) has denied claims that its operatives shot someone at a filling station in Lagos.
This statement contradicts earlier reports of a young man, Toheeb Eniafe, being killed by security operatives at an NNPC filling station in Obalende, Ikoyi.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when two men, believed to be military officers, attempted to jump the queue at the filling station.
However, the DSS refuted these claims, stating, “The story that two DSS staff allegedly fired at a member of the public in a filling station and were also attacked by an angry mob in Obalende area of Lagos is NOT TRUE.”
In response to the allegations, the DSS directed further inquiries to the police. “The Police PRO in Lagos may be contacted for further enquiries on the incident, please,” the agency stated on its X account.
Consequently, this statement raises questions about the accuracy of the initial eyewitness accounts and the identity of the perpetrators involved in the incident.
